DESCRIPTION: This is a distinctive and lustrous example of the heteromorph ammonite Audiloceras, acquired from the Volga River region of Russia.  The original matrix has been carefully milled, and the periphery polished to a high shine.  This specimen is beautifully intact and exhibits extensive opalescent mother-of-pearl along with diffuse pyritization.  A beautiful specimen, and at a very reasonable price!
